Steelers Activate Jarvis Jones from IR; Place Cortez Allen

The Pittsburgh Steelers activated Jarvis Jones from the injured reserve list and placed Cortez Allen on the injured reserve list ending his season.

Facing a do or die game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium, the Steelers were expected to active Jones, who injured his wrist in the Steelers win vs. Carolina. The decision to end Allen’s season amounts to a surprise, and marks an unwelcome milestone for the man many in the organization once tagged as the Steelers next shut down corner.

Jarvis Jones has been practice with the team for several weeks, and his activation was expected, especially give James Harrison’s knee injury and sparing use of Arthur Moats.

  • The Steelers now must hope that Jones can add come octane to an anemic pass rush.

So far this year the Steelers have 22 sacks which puts them on pace for 27 for the year, a far cry from the franchise high of 55 set in 1995 and again in 2001.
